About Ekal Abhiyan
Ekal Abhiyan (www.ekal.org) is a movement targeted to integrated and holistic development of rural and tribal India. Ekal started 30 years ago to organise and run 1 teacher schools (Ekal Shiksha Kendra) pan India and works only in the remote rural & tribal villages to take education to every child. inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideology that if a child cannot come to school, take a school to child’s doorstep. The overriding philosophy of Ekal is a holistic approach of social and economic development for Rural & Tribal India, that is what is the true Bharat. With an active participation of various trusts and non-profit entities, the movement has become the largest grassroots level non governmental education and development movement that operates in the remote villages of India.
Support your Rural & Tribal Brethren in Education, Health and Holistic Development. The Ekal movement aims to help eradicate illiteracy from rural and tribal India by adopting the philosophy of rural development based on the criteria of equality & inclusiveness across all the sections of the society. As on date we are running over 76,000 Ekal Shiksha Kendra all across besides having effective interventions in Preventive Healthcare (Arogya), Integrated Village Development (Gramothan) and Awareness of Villagers’ Rights and Welfare (Shri Hari).
Run for Ekal
Know Us, Understand Us, Support Us and Be Us – with this focus in mind, Run for Ekal is being organised on Sunday, 13 January 2019 at New Delhi. We shall be showcasing our social interventions and developmental work amongst city residents and youth, who are harbinger of not only economic growth but greatly in bridging urban and rural divide. we expect more than 4000 dollars to join besides thousands of other as onlookers. Certain eminent personalities are also being invited to support this National Social Cause.

► 10Km (timed run, 8:30AM start)- Rs 600/-
► 5Km (timed run, 9:00AM start)- Rs 600/-
► 5Km Walkathon (non-timed, 9:00AM start)- Rs 300/-
